Pune News: Huge tourist influx leads to chaos at Sinhagad fort on Sunday

Pune: An astounding 15 thousand tourists visited the Sinhagad fort on Sunday owing to its natural beauty and cuisine leading to massive traffic congestion in the area. 

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Baliram Waikar, Forest Guard, Sinhagad Fort said, “Tourists visiting Sinhagad fort.was more than what we had expected. The parking lot was full. As a result, many vehicles were parked wherever they could find spaces. It led to a huge traffic jam. The tourists were visibly irked. Also, the vehicles were released from Kondhanpur Phata in a phased manner.” 

As per information from Waikar, 1282 two-wheeler and 412 four-wheeler vehicles of tourists came to Sinhagad on Sunday. Also, the number of tourists walking was comparatively more. More than 15 thousand tourists visited the fort during the day. At eleven in the morning, the picture of slow moving traffic on the highway was seen.

From Sinhagad Ghat Rasta, Pune Darwaza, Kalyan Darwaza, Narveer Tanaji Malusare and Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj Samadhi area along with Fortified Buro Road were crowded with tourists. A picture of a huge crowd of tourists was seen at the food stalls. Khadakwasla Dam Chowpatty was not crowded as usual due to the encroachment action. However, the dam area was crowded with tourists. Traffic on the Pune-Panshet road was slow after evening. More than five to six thousand tourists thronged Rajgad during the day.
