This year, after heavy rains in July and subsequent cloudy weather, rare flowers have started blooming on the Kaas Plateau. Notably, the “Topli Karvi,” which blooms only once every seven years, is expected to be in full bloom this season, offering a rare sight for visitors. Alongside, numerous other flowers in various shapes and colors will enhance the plateau’s beauty in the coming days.

The Kaas Plateau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracts thousands of tourists annually who come to marvel at its natural splendor. By the first or second week of September, the plateau will be covered in vibrant, colorful flowers.

How to reach Kaas ? 

For those traveling by car, the Kaas Plateau is 280 kilometers from Mumbai, approximately a 6-hour drive. From Pune, it is 125 kilometers away, about a 2.5-hour drive. The easiest route is via the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway, exiting at Satara.

One can also plan to visit nearby areas such as Tapola lake, Thoseghar waterfalls, Sajjangad, Yavateshwar, Ajinkyatara, among other places.
