Pune: The crematorium in Kalas village has been in a state of disrepair for a significant period, resulting in the inability to perform the last rites at the place.
Despite various complaints, the site remains unrepaired. The Kalas crematorium has become a den for individuals who indulge in alcohol and drugs. They frequently force their way into the premises and occupy the space.
Furthermore, there is a lack of security guards at night, and the CCTV cameras are non-operational. The police department also needs to regularly document these issues. During a community meeting held at the Kalas Yerawada Regional office, Amit Mhaske, the city president of the Aam Aadmi Party Youth Front, raised concerns regarding this matter.
As per the information received, he cautioned that if the repairs were not promptly carried out, the Aam Aadmi Party would initiate a protest.
