Kanpur Tragedy: 24-Year-Old Man Drowns in Pool While Friends Look On, CCTV Footage Surfaces
Kanpur: A 24-year-old man tragically drowned in a swimming pool during a party in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur on Sunday. The victim, identified as Shikhar Singh, had gone to the Water Wall swimming facility in Sanigwan with friends for a pool party.
According to CCTV footage of the incident, Singh was seen struggling in the pool for nearly two minutes before losing consciousness. His friends failed to notice his distress during that time. It was only after they saw no movement that they pulled him out and rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Singh’s father confirmed to Dainik Bhaskar that his son had gone to enjoy the day with friends. Singh was a contractor by profession and lived in the Yashoda Nagar area. He was the only son of his parents.
Following the tragic news, Singh’s mother and sister reportedly fainted, as per a report by Aaj Tak. His body has been sent for postmortem, and no police complaint has been filed by the family so far. Police said there was nothing suspicious in the CCTV footage.
