The Karnataka Transport Department has implemented uniform cab fares for app-cab aggregators like Ola and Uber, along with other non-app-based taxi operators in cities across the state.

According to the new fare structure, cabs have been categorised into three classes based on the cost of the vehicle. Before this, the fares were different for the two categories of taxis. Check details here.

The notification categorizes cabs based on the cost of the vehicle. For cabs priced under Rs 10 lakh, the fixed fare for a minimum distance of four km is Rs 100, with an additional charge of Rs 24 per km.

Vehicles priced between Rs 10-15 lakh have a fixed fare of Rs 115, and those above Rs 15 lakh have a fixed fare of Rs 130, with corresponding additional charges. Taxis operating between 12-6 am can impose an extra 10% charge. The fare structure emphasizes distance, and waiting charges are applicable after the initial five minutes.
