A major push is planned for Metro’s reach before this year’s Lok Sabha elections.

The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) is scheduled to conduct a final inspection and approval of the 5.5km Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi Metro stretch next week, and the Swargate-Katraj underground stretch is expected to be approved by the Center within a month.

Before the Lok Sabha elections, commuters would be able to use the Ruby Hall Clinic – Ramwadi stretch, according to sources in Pune’s political circles.

The Ruby Hall-Ramwadi stretch was the subject of preliminary inspections by a CMRS team last week. A senior Maha Metro official confirmed that the team will arrive for final inspection next week.

People from the Nagar Road area will be able to travel directly to Deccan Gymkhana and Kothrud once the Metro on the Ruby Hall-Ramwadi section is operational, according to Maha Metro officials.

Metro service on the Civil Court to Swargate stretch must get started as soon as possible, according to frequent commuters. However, the officials stated that it was unlikely that the Swargate project would be finished by April 2024.
