Landslide at Pabe Ghat in Velhe Taluka

Pune: With the advent of monsoon in Velhe taluka, the residents residing in the hilly regions are facing severe challenges. As a result of heavy rains, a landslide occurred on the road leading to Velhe from Ranjane village at Pabe Ghat.
As per the information provided, the landslide has caused a state of panic among the commuters, and the traffic has come to a standstill. However, the administration has exercised caution and removed the fallen trees.
In the Ghat area of Velhe taluka, the frequency of landslides has been increasing due to the rainfall on the Ghat top for the past two days. After knowing about the landslide at Pabe Ghat, Tehsildar Dinesh Parge promptly informed the officials of the Public Work Department.
As per the information received, the officials rushed to the site and initiated the process of removing the trees and rocks with the aid of JCB. After relentless efforts of one-and-a-half to two hours, the landslide was successfully cleared, and the road was reopened.
Nevertheless, the Public Works Department (PWD) has cautioned that the threat at the site is still prevalent, and the trees in the vicinity are likely to fall on the road. Tehsildar Dinesh Parge has urged the commuters to exercise caution while driving through this area.
