Their innovative theme comprises 12 meticulously designed boxes, each dedicated to one Hindu month. Within these boxes, they artistically showcase the festivals specific to each month. From the traditional “Bail Pola” to the colourful Holi and the majestic Vasant Panchami, every facet of the diverse cultural tapestry finds thoughtful representation in its decoration. Given the Society’s diverse resident base, the ensemble also embraces celebrations like Durga Puja, Mahaveer Jayanti, Buddha Pournima, Pongal, and Lahori.

This year, with the occurrence of an “Adhik Maas,” an additional month in the Hindu calendar, the team ingeniously integrated this unique occurrence. They decided that the offerings of this “Adhik” month, known as “dhonda,” would be symbolically sent to Lord Ganesha from Chandrayaan 3. The centerpiece of their creation depicts Ganpati Bappa against the backdrop of the moon, featuring the Vikram rover – a breathtaking fusion of science and culture.

While celebrating tradition, the team also championed environmental sustainability. The entire decoration comes to life using eco-friendly materials, such as biodegradable paper, natural dyes, and recycled resources.

The dynamic team, composed of twelve remarkable women: Gayatri (Sara) Birari, Toshi Jindal, Rupali Birla, Sarika Nagina, Sheela Dhamdhere, Swati Trifale, Shilpa Kulkarni, Vidhya Bhalerao, Ashwini Tapasvi, Sonal Pote, Kalpana Gaikwad, and Sarita Lomte.

Each woman contributed her unique talents and creativity. They dedicated over a month to meticulous planning and preparation, brainstorming ideas, conducting research, and crafting every component of the decoration. Evenings and weekends were devoted tirelessly to bringing their vision to life, and their unwavering commitment shone through in every detail.

The captivating and visually stunning decoration left an indelible mark on the community, particularly the younger generation. Children and teenagers were spellbound by the intricate details and captivating displays, immersing themselves in the beauty of Indian culture. The theme ensured that the flame of tradition continued to burn brightly, resonating with the hearts of the next generation.
