Actors Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty turned an unexpected detour into a fun adventure while shooting for their upcoming film Border 2 in Pune. The duo, who are currently in the city for the third schedule of the film, ended up getting lost and decided to hop on the Pune Metro to find their way back to their hotel.
On Friday night, Varun shared a light-hearted video on his Instagram Stories, documenting their metro ride. “Guys, we are right now in Pune and we are pretty lost. So Ahan and I are getting on this metro and trying to get to our hotel. It’s been a crazy night,” he says in the video. He captioned it, “On a crazy adventure.” Ahan Shetty also posted a snap of them waiting at the metro station, writing, “On an adventure with Varun Dhawan.”
About Border 2
Border 2 is the sequel to the iconic 1997 war drama Border by J.P. Dutta. Directed by Anurag Singh, known for Kesari, the film stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty in lead roles. It is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta under the T-Series and JP Films banners.
The third leg of shooting recently began at the prestigious National Defence Academy in Pune. Sunny Deol took to Instagram to share a group photo with his co-stars, captioning it: “When all ‘Forces’ come together! #BORDER2… Diljit Dosanjh & Ahan Shetty join Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan as the battalion kicks off the 3rd schedule at Pune’s National Defence Academy.” In the picture, Varun is seen in a rugged new look, complete with a moustache.
What’s Next for Varun
Apart from Border 2, Varun Dhawan is also set to star in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, a romantic drama produced by Karan Johar. The film features an ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Maneish Paul, and is slated for release on 12 September 2025.
Looks like Varun and Ahan’s night in Pune may have taken a wrong turn—but fans are loving the spontaneous metro diaries of this Bollywood bromance.
