In astonishing news, an offbeat village of Maharashtra has banned alcohol and tobacco.

Entry of people who drink alcohol is prohibited in this village. Also, bringing alcohol is strictly banned in the village. Along with this, eating and selling tobacco is also prohibited in the village.

Apart from this, it is the age of social media. Everyone has a mobile phone. This is the reason why most of the young boys and girls, parents, men, and women waste their time watching videos on their mobile phones. The entire village has been built in a new way. There is an underground drain in the village and benches for seniors to sit for public participation. Moreover, the villagers have planted five and a half thousand saplings this year.

Situated 10 km away from the sub-district headquarters, Umarga (tehsildar office) and 95 km away from the district headquarters, Osmanabad, the total geographical area of the village is 651 hectares.Jakekurwadi has a total population of 1,594 people. Of these, the male population is 832 and the female population is 762. The literacy rate of Jakekurwadi village is 64.24 per cent. There are about 349 houses in Jakekurwadi village.
