Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured the Legislative Assembly that stringent actions would be taken against those responsible for this fraudulent activity.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar disclosed that several documents, purportedly bearing the signature and seal of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, were discovered within the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The state government has promptly filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the Mumbai police. Efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators behind this deceitful act, with the assurance from Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar that no one involved will evade accountability. The issue was raised in the Legislative Assembly by Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar, underscoring the significance of this scandal.

On Wednesday, the office of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde lodged a formal complaint with the Marine Drive police station concerning the unauthorized use of counterfeit stamps and signatures on multiple applications.

In response, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that documents bearing the Chief Minister’s signature and annotations are typically routed through the Chief Minister’s secretariat before further processing. These applications are logged into the e-office system and forwarded to relevant administrative departments. Recent revelations have brought to light the falsification of signatures and seals on approximately 10–12 letters, prompting immediate action and informing higher authorities of the situation. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has been briefed on the matter and has given it the utmost consideration.

A spokesperson from the CMO emphasized the importance of heightened caution and vigilance among CMO personnel. It is anticipated that the perpetrators will soon be identified and brought to justice with the assistance of law enforcement agencies.
