Maharashtra CM To Discuss Nurses’ Demands In Key Meeting; Recruitment Deadline Extended to July 14
Mumbai | July 10, 2025
Minister of State for Medical Education Madhuri Misal has assured that a meeting will be held with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to discuss concrete solutions regarding service conditions, recruitment processes, and operational challenges in the Medical Education Department.
The assurance came after the Maharashtra Government Nurses Federation staged a sit-in protest at Azad Maidan in Mumbai today, pressing for their long-pending demands.
Later, the federation submitted a memorandum of their demands to Minister Misal, who held a positive discussion with the delegation.
The federation’s key demands include immediate filling of vacant hospital posts, improvement in pay scales, promotions, service conditions, reconsideration of increments and allowances, regularization of existing nurses, bringing clarity to tenure policies, and aligning recruitment, training, and working guidelines as per the Centre’s directives.
Recruitment Deadline Extended
Minister Misal also provided clarity on the ongoing recruitment process. Due to technical issues such as website payment failures, incomplete documents, and pending final-year results for some students, the deadline for submitting applications has now been extended to July 14, 2025.
