Maharashtra: Convention Center Planned In Nashik For Kumbh Mela 2027 Preparations
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently chaired a high-level meeting to discuss preparations for the 2027 Kumbh Mela, set to be held in Trimbakeshwar, Nashik, from August to November. The meeting focused on creating world-class infrastructure to ensure the event becomes a landmark spiritual and cultural celebration.
A key proposal highlighted during the meeting was the establishment of a large convention center near Nashik. Dubbed the “Maha Kumbh” center, this facility would feature exhibits showcasing temples, pilgrimage sites, and Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage, providing a holistic spiritual experience for devotees.
Senior officials, including Water Resources and Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Additional Chief Secretaries Rajesh Kumar and Iqbal Singh Chahal, and Nashik’s Divisional and Municipal Commissioners, were present. Discussions revolved around enhancing crowd management, improving infrastructure, and implementing safety measures for the millions expected to attend.
The convention center is envisioned as a focal point to highlight India’s spiritual and cultural legacy, ensuring that the Kumbh Mela transcends its traditional appeal to become a global event. This initiative reflects the government’s dedication to balancing heritage preservation with modern amenities.
