Maharashtra: Parents Urged To Avoid Fraudulent Offers In RTE Admissions
Pune, February 6 – The Right to Education (RTE) 25% admission process is entirely online and transparent, with lottery-based allotment determining eligible and waitlisted students for each school. No manual intervention occurs in this process, and parents should not fall for any fraudulent offers regarding their child’s admission, stated Sharad Gosavi, Director of Primary Education.
Under Section 12(1)(C) of the Right to Education Act, 2009, 25% of seats in private schools are reserved for children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections. If parents come across any fraudulent activities related to admissions, they are advised to report them to the district’s primary education officer, municipal administration officer, divisional deputy director of education, or the Directorate of Primary Education, Pune, via email at [email protected]. Complaints can also be submitted to the Commissioner of Education, Pune, at [email protected], along with supporting evidence.
Gosavi further warned that any individual found involved in such fraudulent activities will face criminal action as per legal provisions.
