Maharashtra: Pilots Protest Against Akasa Air, Alleging Malpractices and Irregularities
A group of pilots at Akasa Air, a relatively new airline that began operations two years ago, has come forward to protest against the company’s management. The pilots have sent a letter to the Civil Aviation Minister, alleging malpractices and irregularities in the company’s hiring process, scheduling, and overall management.
The pilots claim that the company is not following the rules and regulations while hiring new employees, and that the management is acting arbitrarily. They also allege that some employees are not adhering to the company’s attendance policies, which is affecting the overall performance of the airline.
Furthermore, the pilots have raised concerns about errors in their schedules, which they claim is affecting their work-life balance and overall well-being. They have demanded an audit of the company’s accounts to ensure transparency and accountability.
This is not the first time that Akasa Air has faced allegations of irregularities. A few days ago, some pilots had filed a complaint with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), alleging defects in the company’s training program. Although the company denied the allegations, the DGCA conducted a sudden audit of the company last year and imposed a financial penalty after finding errors in the company’s operations.
In a separate development, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai has been awarded a Level-5 certificate of global reputation by the Airport Council International for its exceptional customer service. The airport has become the first in the country and the third in the world to receive this prestigious certificate.
