Maharashtra Signs ₹5,127 Cr MoU with Blackstone Group To Develop Logistics Parks, Create 27,500+ Jobs
In a significant move to strengthen Maharashtra’s industrial and logistics infrastructure, the state government has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with XSIO Logistics Parks and Horizon Industrial Parks, backed by the Blackstone Group. The ₹5,127 crore MoU will pave the way for the development of over 10 cutting-edge industrial and logistics parks across key regions of the state.
The agreement marks a major boost to the state’s economy and employment sector, with more than 27,500 direct and indirect job opportunities expected to be created. These parks will span across a total of 794.2 acres, with planned construction covering 1.85 crore square feet. The initiative also represents a major infusion of foreign direct investment into the state.
Strategically located in industrial and logistics hubs such as Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan, Sinnar, and Panvel, the parks will serve as key enablers for enhancing supply chain efficiency and boosting manufacturing competitiveness. The facilities will be designed to be environment-friendly and digitally enabled, aligning with the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024 and the state’s broader vision for sustainable development.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other senior dignitaries. The government hailed the partnership as a transformational step toward building world-class logistics infrastructure that meets international standards for sustainability, employment generation, and digital readiness.
This development is expected to position Maharashtra as a premier destination for industrial growth, warehousing, and multimodal logistics in India, supporting the state’s ambition of becoming a \$1 trillion economy.
