Maharashtra, March 25, 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for 14 districts across Maharashtra, warning of unseasonal rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds over the next 24 hours. The state is currently facing a dual weather pattern, with heatwave conditions in Konkan and rain activity in other regions.
According to the IMD, Konkan region, including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Palghar, will experience hot and humid weather on March 26, with temperatures ranging between 32°C to 36°C. High humidity levels are likely to intensify discomfort. Meanwhile, Sindhudurg may witness isolated thunderstorms with gusty winds of 40–50 km/h.
In Western Maharashtra, including Pune, light rainfall is expected, with temperatures between 33°C and 36°C. Districts such as Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur are under a yellow alert for thunderstorms and unseasonal rain, posing a risk to standing crops.
Marathwada region will see mixed conditions, with Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) and Jalna experiencing hot weather, while Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, and Dharashiv are likely to receive rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
In Vidarbha, cities like Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, and Buldhana will face intense heat up to 38°C, while Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli are on alert for thunderstorms.
