Pune, November 15, 2025: A significant drop in temperatures across Maharashtra has prompted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a cold wave alert for 10 districts on November 16. Several regions are experiencing an intense chill, with minimum temperatures plunging well below normal levels.

According to the IMD, Jehur in Solapur district recorded a minimum of 9°C, while Mahabaleshwar, Nashik and Gondia saw temperatures falling below 11°C, indicating the strengthening cold wave conditions across the state.

Mumbai & Konkan Region

Despite the statewide dip, the Konkan belt, including Mumbai, continues to remain relatively warm.

    Clear skies are expected in Mumbai and neighbouring areas, with bright sunshine prevailing through the day.

Pune & Western Maharashtra

Western Maharashtra, including Pune and its ghat regions, has been placed under a cold wave alert.

  • Pune Temperature Forecast: Maximum 29°C, Minimum 12°C
    Further temperature decline is likely over the next 48 hours.

Marathwada: Six Districts Under Alert

Cold wave warnings have been issued for
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli and Nanded.

  • Sambhajinagar Forecast: Maximum 29°C, Minimum 11°C

North Maharashtra: Severe Chill Continues

Districts under alert include
Jalgaon, Nashik, Nashik Ghats, and Ahmednagar.

  • Nashik Forecast: Maximum 28°C, Minimum 9°C
    The IMD has warned that cold wave conditions may persist for the next two days.

Vidarbha: Drop in Night Temperatures

  • Nagpur Forecast: Maximum 28°C, Minimum 13°C
    Gondia remains among the coldest locations, with temperatures dipping below 11°C, as per IMD data. Skies are expected to remain clear across most of Vidarbha.

Advisory for Citizens

Cold conditions are expected to continue across Maharashtra for the next few days, with the possibility of further temperature drops. Citizens, especially infants, elderly individuals and those with health conditions, are advised to take necessary precautions to safeguard their health and avoid exposure to early morning and late-night chill.
