Pune, November 20: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Maharashtra, warning that the next 24 hours may remain critical as the cold wave continues across the state. A fresh flow of cold winds from North India is increasing chill in the air, and temperatures are expected to dip further in the coming days.

According to the weather department, the cool conditions will persist across the state on November 21. Several major cities, including Pune, Nashik and Jalgaon, which recorded single-digit temperatures over the past few days, have seen a slight rise of 1–2°C, but winter chill remains strong.

Region-Wise Weather Update (November 21)

Mumbai:
Mumbai continues to see minimal drop in temperatures compared to the rest of the state. The city is likely to record a minimum temperature of 22°C and a maximum of 34°C.

Pune & Western Maharashtra:
Winter conditions remain intense. Pune recorded 11°C on November 20, and the minimum temperature is expected to rise slightly to 12°C on November 21. Kolhapur is likely to remain around 20°C. Western Maharashtra continues to experience strong winter chill.

North Maharashtra:
Nashik reported a minimum temperature of 12°C, expected to rise to 13°C on November 21. Jalgaon may also continue to see a drop in mercury. The region has witnessed the sharpest temperature decline in the state.

Marathwada:
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is expected to witness clear skies with a maximum of 32°C and a minimum of 14°C. The region has seen a 2-degree rise, yet the cold conditions remain steady.

Vidarbha:
Nagpur and other Vidarbha districts will experience clear skies and dry weather. Nagpur’s maximum temperature may hover around 29°C, with a minimum of 15°C. While temperatures have risen slightly, mornings and evenings will remain chilly, and some areas may experience warm afternoons.
