Maharashtra Weather Update: Cold Wave Persists Across State; Severe Chill Likely to Continue on December 13

Pune/Mumbai, December 12: Maharashtra continues to reel under biting cold, with several regions reporting single-digit temperatures over the past few days. While the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued a cold-wave warning for December 13, the department has confirmed that intense chill will continue across the state.

According to IMD, central Maharashtra and Vidarbha have been experiencing severe cold conditions. On Friday, Jeur recorded 5°C, while Dhule reported 6°C, marking some of the lowest temperatures in the state this week. The cold spell is expected to persist in the coming days.

Mumbai & Konkan Region

• Mumbai and adjoining suburbs are likely to witness clear skies with dry weather conditions.
• Maximum temperature: 33°C
• Minimum temperature: 16°C
• Konkan too is experiencing a noticeable drop in temperatures.

Pune & Western Maharashtra

• Several districts in western Maharashtra have reported single-digit nighttime temperatures, indicating a sharp rise in winter intensity.
• Pune is expected to experience slight fog and partly cloudy skies.

• Minimum temperature: 9°C

Marathwada

• The cold continues in Marathwada, with Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar expected to remain dry under clear skies.
• Maximum temperature: 30°C
• Minimum temperature: 11°C

North Maharashtra

• North Maharashtra remains the coldest region in the state, witnessing widespread morning chill and dry winds.
• Nashik is likely to see clear skies.
• Maximum temperature: 29°C
• Minimum temperature: 10°C

Vidarbha

• Vidarbha is facing intense winter conditions, with Gondia, Yavatmal, and Wardha recording below 10°C.
