Weather Alert: Sunday Weather Shift Brings New Advisory for Mumbai–Pune
Maharashtra Weather Alert: The winter chill has tightened its grip over Maharashtra as cold winds from the northern regions continue to sweep across the state. After a mild start to November, temperatures have now dropped significantly, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a cold wave alert for eight districts on November 18.
According to weather officials, North Maharashtra and Marathwada are witnessing the sharpest dip, while early morning and night temperatures are expected to fall further over the next 48 hours.
Mumbai & Konkan: Clear Skies, Gradual Drop in Temperature
Mumbai is expected to experience clear skies on November 18. The maximum temperature may reach 33°C, while the minimum could drop to 19°C.
Districts like Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg in the Konkan belt will also see clear skies with cooling conditions gradually intensifying.
Pune & Western Maharashtra: Noticeable Chill Ahead
Pune will witness mainly clear skies, with temperatures ranging between 30°C (max) and 11°C (min).
Cold conditions will be felt across Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and Solapur, where clear skies will contribute to a sharper fall in night temperatures.
Marathwada: Cold Wave Alert Issued
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, like the rest of Marathwada, is expected to remain clear. The city may record 30°C (max) and 13°C (min).
A cold wave alert has been announced for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, and Hingoli, urging residents to take necessary precautions.
North Maharashtra: Strong Cold Wave Conditions
Nashik, one of the coldest regions this week, is also under a cold wave warning, with temperatures expected to dip to 10°C.
Dhule and Jalgaon are witnessing similar conditions, with the IMD issuing alerts for both districts.
Vidarbha: Morning & Night Chill to Persist
Nagpur will experience clear skies on November 18, with the maximum temperature around 27°C and the minimum near 12°C.
In Gondia and Bhandara, temperatures continue to fall steadily, and other Vidarbha districts may also feel increased chill during early mornings and nights.
Eight Districts Under Cold Wave Alert
The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for the following districts on November 18:
- Dhule
- Nashik
- Jalgaon
- Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
- Jalna
- Parbhani
- Beed
- Hingoli
Residents in these areas are advised to wear warm clothing, avoid exposure to cold winds, and take necessary health precautions, especially for children and senior citizens.
This intensified cold wave marks one of the season’s sharpest temperature drops so far, signaling the arrival of winter across Maharashtra.
