Maharashtra Weather Update: Heavy Rain Likely in Pune and Nashik Over Next Two Days; District-wise Alerts Issued
Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rain warnings for parts of Maharashtra, especially in the ghat regions of Pune and Nashik, over the next 48 hours. A red alert has been declared in these areas due to the possibility of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places.
Pune Weather Forecast
On June 24, Pune recorded cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in isolated areas. For June 25, similar conditions are expected with scattered rainfall. Over the next two days, the city is likely to experience cloudy skies and light rain, particularly in surrounding regions.
According to IMD, Konkan, Nashik, and Pune regions are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains from June 25 onwards, with scattered rainfall expected in Marathwada and parts of Madhya Maharashtra.
District-Wise Weather Alerts:
Red Alert – Pune & Nashik Ghats
- Intense rainfall likely today (June 25), with potential for extremely heavy downpours in ghat sections.
- Red alert is in place for today, shifting to orange alert for the next two days.
Orange Alert – Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg
- Konkan districts may witness heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next two days.
Orange Alert – Kolhapur & Satara Ghats
- These areas are expected to receive significant rainfall in the ghat regions.
Yellow Alert – Jalgaon & Nashik Plains
- Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely over the next 2–3 days.
Palghar & Mumbai:
- Palghar may experience heavy to very heavy rain at isolated locations today.
- Mumbai is also likely to see spells of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Marathwada Region:
- Rain is expected across most districts except Beed.
- Districts such as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Latur, Parbhani, Dharashiv, Hingoli, and Jalna may witness scattered showers.
Vidarbha – Yellow Alert for Thunderstorms
- All districts in Vidarbha are under yellow alert for lightning, thunder, and gusty winds accompanied by rain for the next two days.
Orange Alert – Nandurbar (Madhya Maharashtra)
- Nandurbar may experience heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places today.
