From milk and groceries to e-commerce parcels, Wadala society will be the first in India’s financial capital to receive doorstep deliveries by drone.

Mumbai is set to take a major leap in urban logistics with its first residential drone delivery service beginning in early 2026.

Drone-tech firm SkyeAir and real-estate developer Siddha Sejal Group have signed an MoU to introduce drone-powered deliveries for residents of Siddha Sky in Wadala, marking the first project of its kind in the city.

Under the upcoming service, residents will receive daily essentials, groceries, medicines, and e-commerce parcels via drone at a designated “Skye-Pod” zone inside the society premises.

The company says drones will be able to cover a radius of 1 to 30 km within minutes, offering a faster, cleaner and more efficient alternative to traditional last-mile delivery.

SkyeAir already operates in multiple cities including Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Bengaluru covering over 27 pin codes and completing more than 2 lakh shipments per month in the NCR region alone.

With Mumbai handling over five lakh last-mile deliveries every day, logistics congestion has become a growing challenge. The drone initiative aims to ease that pressure.

The pilot project at Wadala’s Siddha Sky will form Mumbai’s first drone-delivery infrastructure for residential users. If successful, officials expect other large housing societies and developers to replicate the model across the city.

The first phase of operations is expected to roll out in the first quarter of 2026, potentially making drone-delivered packages a part of everyday life for Mumbaikars.
