Major Link Road from Bhakti Shakti Chowk to Nashik Highway Set to Transform Commutes, Reduce Traffic, and Boost Connectivity
The construction of the 550-meter-long road connecting Triveni Nagar via Bhakti Shakti Chowk to the Nashik Highway is progressing steadily, with 50% of the work completed. This project aims to improve traffic flow between the Pune-Nashik Highway, the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, and Nigdi’s Bhakti Shakti Chowk, reducing congestion in the city.
According to the approved development plan, the road will be 75 meters wide. Currently, a 37-meter-wide road is being developed. It includes two 12-meter-wide lanes, a 9-meter-wide high-capacity mass transit route in the center, and 2-meter-wide paved shoulders on both sides. Asphalt work on 270 meters of the dual carriageway has been completed.
The municipal corporation plans to expedite the project after resolving land acquisition issues for the required 250×75-meter area.
Once completed, the road will reduce the number of heavy vehicles on major city roads, easing traffic congestion. This will save time and fuel for commuters while promoting an eco-friendly environment. The road will also connect the Talawade IT hub to Chakan MIDC, serving as a vital link for industrial traffic.
Additionally, the advanced road design will address issues like rainwater drainage and improve water management in the area. The use of modern technology is expected to reduce pollution and accidents.
Land acquisition for key sections is ongoing. The municipal corporation aims to complete the remaining work within 1-2 months after acquiring the necessary land.
The project is a crucial step toward reducing traffic jams and ensuring smoother travel by connecting Bhakti Shakti Chowk to the national highway efficiently.
