A man in Bengaluru has been arrested after a video of him calmly sipping tea while seated on a chair in the middle of a busy road went viral on social media.
The footage, recorded on April 12, shows the man appearing completely relaxed, unfazed by the fast-moving traffic of autorickshaws, bikes, and cars speeding past him. The scene resembled a tea break in a living room—except it was right in the middle of city traffic. The man was tracked down and arrested by the SJ Park Police, and a case has been registered against him.
The police cautioned the public that performing stunts on the road is not only against the law but also poses significant risks to all parties involved.
Online, the video sparked a wave of reactions, with many expressing outrage and concern over the blatant disregard for road safety and public order.
“Sir! Please don’t give him the station bail and release him in a few hours. Set an example punish him and put him behind bars,” said one comment.
“Please take strick on speed riders in street of Basaveshwara Nagar and parking is horrible half of the road is gone. Pedestrians are really struggling and injuring,” said another user.
