Man arrested for murder of colleague over alleged sexual assault in Pune

The Pimpri-Chinchwad police have apprehended a man for his suspected involvement in the homicide of a young man purportedly linked to the sexual assault of his distant relative in Hinjewadi. 

Identified as Lokendra Kishor Singh (28) from Wakad, the accused allegedly attacked Niketan Kunal, leading to his demise. The incident, which occurred on April 5, prompted the filing of an FIR at Wakad Police Station on Wednesday. Singh and his distant relative, along with the victim, were all employed as sales representatives at a real estate company and were familiar with each other. 

Allegations arose when Singh’s relative accused Kunal of sexually assaulting her after a party on April 3. Seeking retribution, Singh and his relative confronted Kunal at his residence on April 5, resulting in a fatal altercation where Singh was struck on the head with a brick. 

Hinjewadi Police Station has registered a case under IPC Section 302 against the accused.
