Pune: In a massive and coordinated effort, Pune Police successfully located a missing 10-year-old girl within 48 hours, thanks to the dedication of over 400 officers and the review of footage from 40 CCTV cameras across the city. The girl, who went missing from Shivtej Nagar in Bibwewadi on August 14, was eventually found safe in the NIBM Road area of Kondhwa late at night on August 15.

The large-scale search operation, which took place on the night of Independence Day, saw heavy police presence in Katraj, leading to speculation among local residents. The girl, Gauri Patel, who has mental disabilities, had been missing for over a day when the Bibwewadi Police escalated their efforts.

After initial searches proved unsuccessful, CCTV footage revealed that Gauri had been in the Katraj area. As time continued to pass without locating her, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar issued strict directives for a more intense and immediate search.
