Pune Contractor Found Dead In Wanawadi; Police Investigate Suicide Angle Amid Family's Murder Allegation
Pune: A 56-year-old contractor was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Pune’s Wanawadi area on Sunday, with police investigating whether the case is one of suicide or involves foul play.
The deceased has been identified as Dharmendra Tiwari (56), a contractor based in Pune.
According to the Wanawadi Police, a handwritten note believed to be a suicide note was recovered from the scene. Preliminary findings suggest that the note mentions financial difficulties and work-related stress as the reasons behind the extreme step.
Senior Police Inspector Pandit Rejitwad of Wanawadi Police Station said that while the note has been recovered, investigators are examining all possible angles before drawing any conclusions.
“Prima facie, a suicide note has been found. However, the investigation is underway to determine whether it is a case of suicide or if any foul play is involved. Appropriate legal action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation,” the officer said.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s family has disputed the suicide theory, alleging that Tiwari may have been murdered. Family members have reportedly expressed suspicion against certain builders and claimed that he was not someone who would take his own life. They have demanded a detailed and impartial investigation into the incident.
Police have initiated a comprehensive probe and are examining the suicide note, forensic evidence, and statements of family members and other persons connected to the case to determine the exact cause and circumstances of Tiwari’s death.
