Titled “Meet the Police Commissioner,” the programme will enable residents and visitors to personally meet Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey along with other top-ranking officers to share complaints, suggestions and expectations.
According to officials, the initiative is designed to promote citizen-focused policing, ensure quicker resolution of grievances and enhance transparency in the functioning of the department. People will not be required to seek advance permission and can walk in during the scheduled hours.
The Commissioner has previously engaged with residents through digital platforms, including virtual town halls and online awareness sessions on social media, particularly focusing on cybercrime prevention. With the introduction of in-person weekly meetings, the police department aims to create a more accessible and responsive system for the public.
