PUNE – Amid rising inflation affecting common citizens, milk prices are set to increase by ₹2 per liter. The decision was taken unanimously in a meeting of members of the Dairy Producers and Processing Welfare Association, held at Pune District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd. (Katraj Dairy).

The meeting was attended by 47 representatives from various cooperative and private dairy unions. The price hike aims to support dairy farmers in the wake of rising production costs. The revised rates will be effective from March 15.

Additionally, discussions were held on raising awareness to curb adulteration in paneer. The members also decided to approach the government for the timely disbursement of pending subsidies for farmers. Plans were made to meet FDA (Food and Drug Administration) officials and Dairy Development Ministers to demand strict action against those involved in milk adulteration.

Revised Milk Prices:

  • Cow milk: ₹54-56 per liter → ₹56-58 per liter
  • Buffalo milk: ₹70-72 per liter → ₹72-74 per liter
