MNS cadres help Pune police nab gutkha supplier

The accused Mayur Agrawal has been detained by the Shindewadi Police which comes under Rajgad Police Station limit.

Pune: The cadres of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena have been working along with the Pune police for the last ten days and have finally caught the supplier of gutkha along with gutkha boxes in Shindewadi, Pune. The efforts of the MNS cadres to stop the illegal supply of gutkha in Pune has been widely appreciated.

The accused Mayur Agrawal has been detained by the Shindewadi Police station which comes under Rajgad Police chowky limit.

Speaking about the same, Sainath Babar, MNS president, Pune City said, “Within the limits of Rajgad police chowky, gutka worth â‚¹ 28 lakhs have been recovered. We had started the initiative 10 days back by meeting Pune City Police Commissioner to stop Gutkha from coming into the city. Today, we have handed the recovered items to Shindewadi Police. Mayur Agarwal is the accused who is supplying Gutka in the city. We have requested the police to arrest him and file a case against him. We also request citizens to inform the police if gutka is available in the market so that action can be taken.”

Sachin Patil, Police Inspector, Khed Shivapur police station said, “We have seized two tempos and the gutka of â‚¹15 lakh.  One accused, Mayur Agarwal, who is the main supplier, has been detained.”

Further investigation in the case is being conducted, he said.
