A deeply tragic incident occurred in Mumbai’s Kandivali area on Wednesday evening, where a 14-year-old boy, the son of a well-known Gujarati television actress, died after reportedly jumping from a high-rise residential building.

The boy, identified as Pant Aarti Makwana, lived with his mother in the Sea Brook complex, a skyscraper on 90 Feet Road in Kandivali West. According to police and preliminary reports, the teenager may have taken the extreme step following a disagreement with his mother over attending his tuition classes.

The unfortunate event is said to have unfolded between 6 and 7 pm. The mother reportedly encouraged her son to leave for his scheduled tutoring session. He was reportedly reluctant and chose to step outside instead. Believing he had gone for his class, the mother remained unaware of what was to follow.

A short while later, residents of the building were startled by a loud sound from the ground level. Security personnel rushed to the spot and discovered the boy lying in a severely injured state. A guard immediately informed the family. When the mother arrived at the scene, she was met with the devastating sight of her son lying in a pool of blood.

Emergency services were called, and the police arrived to initiate an investigation. Authorities have filed a case of accidental death and stated that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The family, who reside on the 51st floor, could not confirm the exact floor from which the fall occurred, though it is believed to be among the top levels—possibly the 57th floor.

According to the Kandivali police, no foul play is currently suspected, and the family’s statement is being treated with care and confidentiality. A detailed investigation is ongoing to fully understand the circumstances leading up to the boy’s death.
