Mumbai, October 27, 2024: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has re-launched its beloved ‘Pawfect’ initiative, bringing back the popular therapy dogs known as ‘ambassadors of happiness’ to help passengers unwind. The initiative, paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, aims to “melt travel stress away” by offering travelers a soothing interaction with specially trained emotional support dogs.

Announcing the revival on social media, airport officials noted that this is currently the only airport in India to provide such a service. Travelers can meet these furry companions every Friday to Sunday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Terminal 2, where the service is available free of charge. The emotional support team includes nine dogs, featuring popular breeds like Golden Retrievers, Malteses, Huskies, and Labradors, all trained to sense and alleviate passengers’ anxiety.

The airport’s management expects the program to foster social interaction, with many travelers sharing stories about their pets while waiting for flights. Dubbed as the #GatewayToGoodness, this initiative is once again a part of Mumbai Airport’s efforts to create a comforting and positive travel environment.
