During the Christmas celebrations in Mumbai, as crowds gathered at city malls, a fire erupted at the parking area of the popular Phoenix Mills Mall in Lower Parel on Monday afternoon. Approximately 30 bikes parked in the vicinity were destroyed by the flames, but officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reported no injuries in the incident.

The fire was first noticed in the open space parking facility for PVR Cinemas at Phoenix Mills Mall at 1:46 pm, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade. Initial information from the BMC suggests that the blaze was contained to around 25 to 30 bikes in the parking lot.

Before the Mumbai Fire Brigade could take action, members of the public swiftly used a hydrant line from the mall premises to extinguish the fire within minutes. Upon reaching the scene, firefighters utilized a first aid line from one fire engine to further contain the flames, ensuring minimal loss of property and, more importantly, no loss of life.
