Mumbai Hit-and-Run: Drunk Driver Runs Over Woman and Child in Wadala; 3-Year-Old Killed, Mother Critically Injured
Mumbai: Hit-and-run cases are on the rise in Mumbai, with yet another tragic incident reported from Wadala. A three-year-old child lost his life, while a woman is battling for survival after being run over by a speeding car driven by an intoxicated driver.
The incident occurred late Sunday night in the Wadala area, near Ram Mandir on Balaram Khedekar Marg. According to reports, a heavily drunk driver lost control of his car and ran over a woman and her three-year-old son, who were sleeping outside their house. The impact was fatal for the child, who died on the spot, while the woman sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses stated that the driver was speeding recklessly under the influence of alcohol, which led to the accident. The horrifying crash left the local residents in shock, prompting them to immediately inform the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Marg Police Station.
Authorities have registered a case, and the driver has been taken into custody. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
