NDA celebrates 75 years with White Water Rafting Expedition on Upper Ganga River

The National Defence Academy is set to celebrate 75 years of excellence in shaping future leaders of the armed forces of our nation. 

As part of the commemorative activities, a thrilling white water rafting expedition was organized on the Upper Ganga River from 04 June to 07 June 2023. This exciting event not only marked a historic milestone for NDA but also provided a unique and enriching experience for the participating cadets.

The expedition, an initiative to foster teamwork, endurance and adventure, witnessed the participation of 18 cadets and two officers from the National Defence Academy. Assistance for the event was provided by experts from Army Aqua Nodal Centre, Raiwala and Garud Runners. 

The event was flagged off from Rudraprayag on 4th June 2023. After an arduous journey of three days, wherein the team covered more than a distance of 150 km, the expedition was finally flagged in at Raiwala, Rishikesh on 07 June 2023 under the aegis of Garud division.

This exhilarating adventure down the upper Ganga river has left an indelible impression on the participating cadets. The challenging rapids, stunning natural landscapes, and the power of the mighty river will serve as a metaphor for the obstacles and trials they may encounter in their future military careers. The spirit of adventure by the cadets would serve well to motivate the youth of our nation to join our armed forces.
