Nepal Invites Indian Influencers On Sponsored Trips To Boost Tourism. Know How To Apply.
New Delhi, May 22, 2026: In a fresh effort to promote tourism among Indian travellers, the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi has launched a special campaign inviting Indian content creators, influencers, vloggers and podcasters for an all-expenses-paid familiarisation trip across Nepal.
The initiative aims to showcase Nepal’s scenic landscapes, spiritual destinations, cultural heritage and adventure tourism through digital storytelling and social media content. Officials believe that influencers with strong online engagement can play a major role in shaping travel preferences among Indian audiences.
Speaking about the campaign, Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to India, Surendra Thapa, said the initiative is designed to strengthen the cultural and spiritual bond shared between India and Nepal while encouraging more Indian tourists to explore the neighbouring country.
According to the embassy, selected creators will travel across various tourism destinations in Nepal and produce travel vlogs, reels, podcasts, short videos and social media posts highlighting the country’s mountains, lakes, temples, festivals, local cuisine and hospitality.
The embassy plans to select five Indian creators for the programme. The campaign will particularly focus on promoting pilgrimage tourism, wellness retreats, adventure travel and family tourism among Indian visitors.
Applicants will be shortlisted based on audience engagement, creativity, storytelling skills and the quality of their previous content. Candidates fluent in English, Hindi or regional Indian languages may receive preference.
Interested participants have been asked to submit their social media statistics, travel-related work samples and a proposal explaining how they plan to promote Nepal tourism to Indian audiences. Applications for the initiative are open until May 30, while the travel schedule and itinerary will be announced later.
Tourism remains one of Nepal’s key economic sectors, contributing significantly to employment generation and foreign exchange earnings. The move has also received positive reactions from tourism supporters in Nepal, who believe such public and cultural diplomacy initiatives can strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries.
