According to officials, Sunday is probably when Pune Airport’s new terminal building, which is still awaiting operationalization, will be opened.

This new 51,595-square-meter terminal, which highlights the vibrant culture of Maharashtra, is expected to accommodate 12 million passengers a year—a significant increase over the current 7.2 million.

On January 14, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia visited Pune Airport and mentioned that the project was recently finished, which prompted him to conduct an inspection.

On March 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also virtually open the airports in Kolhapur, Jabalpur, and Gwalior.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is expected to be in Pune for the inauguration ceremony, according to officials.

Aeromall can now be accessed from the airport terminal via a pedestrian bridge. To reach the bridge, there is a lift and a sliding staircase as well. Additionally, amenities are offered to discourage people from using footbridges to carry their bags.
