Pune, August 12, 2023:

In a swift operation, the Kondhwa Police apprehended two individuals hailing from New Delhi, who had ventured to Pune and committed a burglary. The arrested suspects have been identified as Rizwan Azmat Ali and Ikrar Nasir Ahmed, both residents of Delhi.

The incident dates back to July 13, when Kiran Avinash Holkar, residing in close proximity to another complainant, Ravindra Hanumant Batarke, had temporarily left her residence. During her absence, miscreants forcibly broke into Holkar’s locked home and made off with valuable gold ornaments.

In response to Holkar’s report, the police initiated a comprehensive investigation, registering a case against unidentified culprits under Section 454 & 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), pertaining to house trespass and theft.

During the course of their probe, the Kondhwa Police received intelligence indicating the suspicious presence of two individuals in the Gokul Nagar residential area. These individuals were reportedly making inquiries about locations lacking security personnel. Acting promptly, the police apprehended the duo. Subsequent interrogation led to their admission of guilt in relation to the aforementioned crime. The suspects, Ali and Ahmed, were promptly arrested, and a significant cache of stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 1.6 lakh was seized from their possession.

Furthermore, upon inspection, the authorities discovered the suspects to be in possession of tools including a screwdriver and cutter, along with used clothing. The individuals had also attempted to mislead the investigators during questioning.

The successful resolution of the case can be attributed to the efforts of Santosh Sonawane, Senior Police Inspector, Sanjay Mogle, Police Inspector (Crime), Sandeep Bhosle, Inspector of Police (Crime), Kondhwa Police Station Pune, Sub-Inspector of Police Swapnil Patil, and the entire investigative team.
