Six months of confinement within four walls was indeed a huge period of testing your own patience. Also, travelling after lockdown (Covid19 pandemic) has changed the dynamics of travelling carefree.

Neetu Sharma, a Fashionista, Beauty Stylist and a PR professional from NIBM road shared her travel experience with Pune Pulse.
She shares, “Undoubtedly travel had its toll because of Covid19 nothing is the same as it used to be. There is still some fear of roaming around freely in  everybody’s mind. Although, everybody is wearing a mask but there is so much more to it to be taken care of. Recently, I happened to travel to a place that was 2 hours away and I could see the difference very clearly. There was no rush on roads as it used to be earlier as not everybody is willing to be out of their homes because of the fear.
There were cops on the road on every signal checking for masks be it at night or during the daytime. Not more than 4 people are allowed in the car. The road side restaurants were not operating and it got tough to take a little tea break although we managed somehow requesting a small restaurant. Once we reached we saw there was no crowd at the public places, just a few locals.”

What has Covid 19 changed ?

  1. Social Distancing
  2. Public places are closed (Tourist places)
  3. Use mask and sanitiser has become inevitable
  4. Always a fear while speaking to a stranger
  5. Social distancing has created distance between two people (emotional)
  6. Life is slow now.
  7. Group selfies are still a distant dream 8. Travelling in a closed car is again a tough task.

Neetu further says, “I must say this is all when things are better and have opened up but how difficult it would have been if everything was opened a few months back, But it is always a beautiful journey when you travel with your loved ones and forget all our issues and that’s what matters the most.”

When asked about the safety precautions she took, Neetu informs, “We carried first aid, hand sanitizers, face masks and made it a point that we don’t touch anything and take all precautions needed.”

“It was a much needed break from the monotonous life and we all came back rejuvenated and with a positive attitude,” she concludes.
