Heat returns to Mumbai as scattered rains persist in coastal and rural regions; winter chill expected soon.

Despite entering November, Maharashtra is still experiencing intermittent rain, particularly in the coastal Konkan region. Mumbai’s temperatures have climbed once again, with the city and suburbs reporting highs of 34 to 35°C, leading to an increase in the sweltering heat. Meanwhile, rural areas in Maharashtra are starting to feel the onset of a mild winter, with cooler temperatures providing some relief from the recent cloudy and rainy weather.

The weather department has predicted overcast skies with scattered rainfall in 12 districts, including Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur and others. For over a week, heavy rains have continued to lash the Konkan region, and an alert has once again been issued for Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts, where strong winds, thunderstorms and intense rain are anticipated.

Mumbai and Pune, along with North Maharashtra, are expected to experience dry, cloudy weather today, according to the meteorological department, marking a mix of conditions across the state.

As the winter season approaches, temperatures are expected to gradually drop. Current maximum temperatures in the state are around 33°C, with minimum temperatures recorded at 22°C. The weather department forecasts a further decrease in temperatures in the coming days, ushering in a gentle winter across Maharashtra. Residents can soon expect the charming “pink winter” weather characteristic of the season.
