On Cam: Actor Nimisha Nair Harassed On Mumbai Highway, Two Youths Detained After Viral Video
Early morning road rage near Bandra sparks safety concerns; actor shares chilling ordeal
Actor Nimisha Nair has highlighted a disturbing case of road rage in Mumbai after two men allegedly blocked her cab and attempted to intimidate her during an early morning journey on the Western Express Highway.
The incident took place around 4.45 am on March 17 near the Kherwadi flyover in Bandra East, when the actor was travelling in an Uber cab with a friend from Andheri to Nariman Point.
Cab Blocked, Situation Escalates
According to Nimisha, trouble began after the cab overtook a scooter carrying two men. The situation quickly escalated when the duo allegedly blocked the cab’s path and refused to let it move forward.
Describing the moment, she said, “These two decided to teach my Uber driver a ‘lesson’ for overtaking them.”
The men reportedly shouted abuses, issued threats, and tried to forcibly open the car doors while demanding that the windows be rolled down.
Actor Records Disturbing Video
The confrontation turned more alarming as Nimisha captured the incident on video. In the clip, she can be heard pleading, “Please stop it, please stop it,” while the men continued their aggressive behaviour.
Despite the pressure, she chose not to engage and focused on ensuring her safety and that of the driver.
Not The First Incident
Nimisha revealed that this was not her first such experience in the city. She said she had faced a similar harassment incident earlier this year in Colaba, for which she had filed an FIR.
She also spoke about difficulties in filing a complaint this time due to technical issues and work commitments but maintained that she intended to pursue action.
Police Action After Viral Post
Following her social media post, Mumbai Police traced the accused using vehicle registration details. A case was registered, and both individuals—aged 25 and 27 from Dadar—were detained and questioned.
After being brought to the police station with their families, the accused were later released with a notice.
Actor Urges Responsible Action
In a follow-up message, Nimisha thanked the police and emphasised the importance of reporting such incidents. She urged people to remain calm in such situations and to seek legal action instead of taking matters into their own hands.
The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety and the vulnerability faced by commuters, especially women, during late-night and early-morning travel in the city.
