Operation Sindoor: India’s New Normal Against Terrorism, Says PM Modi
Operation Sindoor Marks India’s New Anti-Terror Doctrine, PM Modi Warns Pakistan of Retaliation
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday delivered a strong message to Pakistan, declaring that Operation Sindoor is not just a military retaliation, but a doctrinal shift in India’s counter-terrorism policy. In his first televised address following India’s missile strikes on terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK), the Prime Minister described the operation as a “new normal” in India’s security strategy.
“Operation Sindoor is not over. It is a continuing, decisive campaign against state-sponsored terrorism targeting Indian citizens,” PM Modi said. Emphasizing the shift, he stated that India would no longer differentiate between terrorists and those who sponsor them.
He directly called out Pakistan’s terror network, naming Bahawalpur and Muridke as “universities of terror” and citing their links to global attacks, including the 9/11 attacks in the US and the London tube bombings. “We will take strong steps to protect India. Operation Sindoor has written history,” Modi said, adding that India showcased its strength in deserts, mountains, and through modern warfare techniques including drones and missiles.
Modi further noted that over 100 terrorists, including key masterminds, had been eliminated during the strikes. He said the strikes not only destroyed infrastructure but also crushed terrorist morale.
No Tolerance for ‘Nuclear Blackmail’
Dismissing threats of nuclear retaliation from Pakistan, Modi said, “Nuclear blackmail will not work on India. When the nation is united under the mantra of ‘nation first’, decisive actions are inevitable.” He underlined that India’s actions were deliberate and strategic, not reactionary.
Talks Only on Terror and Return of PoK
The Prime Minister made it clear that dialogue with Pakistan is possible only on two issues — terrorism and the return of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. “Terror and talks cannot go hand in hand. Terror and trade cannot go hand in hand. Water and blood cannot flow together,” he asserted.
Pahalgam Attack & State-Sponsored Terror
Referring to the recent Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians, Modi called it “the most barbaric face of terrorism.” He slammed Pakistan’s army for openly attending funerals of terrorists, branding it as undeniable proof of state-sponsored terror. “The world has now seen the truth of Pakistan,” he said.
Pakistan Seeks De-escalation After Heavy Damage
PM Modi revealed that India’s strikes inflicted such massive damage in the first three days that the Pakistani military was forced to contact India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) on May 10. “Only after Pakistan assured there would be no further attacks did we consider halting our response,” he said, warning that retaliation has only been “suspended” and not withdrawn.
With Operation Sindoor, India has redrawn its red lines, and PM Modi has made it clear — any attack on Indian citizens will be met with overwhelming force.
