Pahalgam Terror Strike: Mortal Remains of Santosh Jadgale, Kaustubh Ganbote Reach Pune Tonight
Pune is bracing for a somber night as the mortal remains of Santosh Jadgale and Kaustubh Ganbote—two local residents who lost their lives in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir—are set to arrive at Pune International Airport at 11:15 PM. The duo was among the 26 people tragically killed in Tuesday’s brutal assault, an incident that has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra and left scores of tourists stranded in the region.
Following their arrival, the bodies will be kept overnight at a hospital mortuary. Early tomorrow morning, between 7:00 and 7:30 AM, the remains will be taken to their respective homes to allow family members and locals to offer their final tributes. Jadgale’s funeral procession will begin at 9:00 AM from his residence in Dnyandeep Colony near Sai Anand Park, Karve Nagar, and conclude at Vaikunth Crematorium. Ganbote’s last rites will take place at the same crematorium after a procession from his home near Salave Garden Mangal Karyalaya in Kondhwa Budruk, also beginning at 9:00 AM.
The Maharashtra government, in coordination with the Union Civil Aviation Ministry, has ensured the swift repatriation of the victims. Minister of State Madhuri Misal is personally overseeing arrangements at the airport, while senior officials manage operations in both Pune and Mumbai. In response to the attack, heightened security measures have been implemented across Pune, particularly in Karve Nagar and Kondhwa.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has strongly condemned the attack and pledged full support to the bereaved families. He has also urged authorities to prioritize the safe return of all stranded tourists from Jammu and Kashmir.
