A video rapidly gaining traction online shows a woman, believed to be a Pakistani news anchor, breaking down in tears during a live television segment. The footage, which has gone viral across social media platforms, captures her visibly shaken and praying for the “poor souls” impacted by India’s recent military action, Operation Sindoor.

In the clip, the anchor can be seen holding back sobs while addressing the loss of lives allegedly resulting from the Indian airstrikes. She pleads for strength and mercy from Allah, expressing grief over the human cost of the operation.

Despite the emotional intensity of the video, there is no official confirmation verifying the anchor’s identity or her affiliation with a news channel. .

The video surfaced shortly after India launched Operation Sindoor on May 6, 2025, a retaliatory strike following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians. The highly coordinated operation executed by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy, targeted nine terror hubs across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. These included key locations associated with banned terror groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Among the sites struck were:

  1. Markaz Subhan Allah, Bahawalpur
  2. Markaz Taiba, Muridke
  3. Sarjal/Tehra Kalan
  4. Mehmoona Joya Facility, Sialkot
  5. Markaz Ahle Hadith, Barnala (Bhimber)
  6. Markaz Abbas, Kotli
  7. Maskar Raheel Shahid, Kotli District
  8. Shawai Nallah Camp, Muzaffarabad
  9. Markaz Syedna Bilal

Indian intelligence sources estimate that over 80 terrorists were killed, and critical infrastructure was decimated. While Pakistan has condemned the strikes and reported civilian casualties, India has maintained that the operation specifically targeted terror infrastructure.

The operation’s name, “Sindoor,” carries symbolic weight, chosen by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor the memory of women widowed in the Pahalgam attack. Sindoor, the red vermilion traditionally worn by married Hindu women, served as a poignant emblem of loss and resilience.

As the emotional video continues to be shared online, reactions remain mixed, some seeing it as a reflection of humanitarian grief, others questioning its authenticity.
