In a bid to enhance the annual Palkhi ceremony of Sant Shrestha Sri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj, Pune Police has introduced real-time GPS tracking.

The revered palanquin procession, commencing from Shri Kshetra Alandi Devachi and Sri Kshetra Dehu, is scheduled to arrive in Pune on 12 June (Monday).

For smooth flow of traffic and timely information to citizens and motorists, Pune Police has launched a dedicated webpage diversion.punepolice.gov.in

This webpage will provide updates on the Palkhi route, road closures, open roads, and the current location of the palanquins.

Pune Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr stated that accessing the webpage through mobile devices or laptops will enable citizens to stay informed and navigate away from potential traffic congestion during the palanquins’ departure.

To track the live location of the processions, four motorcycles will be deployed which are equipped with GPS systems. These vehicles will accompany the procession. This measure will facilitate prompt updates to officials, staff, and the control room, assisting in traffic management along the route.

Additionally, parking arrangements have been established at SSPMS College Grounds, Sinchananagar, and Race Course for devotees and palanquin vehicles. Detailed information about these parking locations can be found on the diversion.punepolice.gov.in webpage.
