Passenger Caught at Delhi International Airport After Failing to Answer Questions on Maharashtra
Immigration officials detained a man at IGI Airport after he failed to answer basic questions about the state listed on his passport.
A passenger bound for Kabul landed in serious trouble at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport when immigration officers discovered glaring discrepancies in his identity. The man, identified on his passport as Mohammad Rasool Najeeb Khan with a Navi Mumbai address and Mumbai recorded as his birthplace, failed to answer even the simplest questions about Maharashtra.
According to officials, the incident took place at the Bureau of Immigration counter after the passenger checked in for Kam Air flight RQ-4402. Officers became suspicious when they noticed that neither his accent nor his manner of speaking resembled someone from Mumbai. To confirm their doubts, they asked him five basic questions about Maharashtra but he could not answer a single one.
When questioned further, the passenger eventually admitted that he was not from Maharashtra but from Afghanistan. Investigators allege he had obtained an Indian passport illegally by using a Mumbai address.
Following this revelation, immigration officials handed him over to IGI Airport Police for further investigation. Authorities are now probing how he managed to procure the forged Indian passport and whether a larger network is involved.
