Passenger tweet sparks security concerns at Ahmedabad airport

A passenger’s tweet to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) about the absence of a security guard at the T2 gate at Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport caused a stir at the airport.

The tweet highlighted the absence of a security guard at the T2 gate, where some domestic flights are currently operating.

The incident occurred before the departure of a SpiceJet flight from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. The tweet included a photo of the unmanned security gate at T2, raising alarms among airport authorities.

Upon receiving the message, senior officials from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) sprang into action. They quickly deployed a Private Security Agency (PSA) to the gate to rectify the situation.

An investigation revealed that the security lapse happened because passengers were granted early entry for the SpiceJet flight. This led to the photo being tweeted before security staff could be stationed at the gate.

Authorities are now ensuring stricter security measures to prevent such incidents in the future and to maintain the safety of passengers at the airport.
