Passengers At Pune Airport Express Frustration Over Cancellations And Delays Of FlightsÂ
Passengers on three flights from Pune faced significant delays and lack of coordination among airline staffers over the past two days, leading to a frustrating experience for many.
Prashant Kadam, one of the affected passengers, took to social media to voice his frustration. “@_prashantkadam: Complete chaos and no communication from @flyspicejet at Pune Airport. @AAI Official Flight no SG 8184 is delayed by almost 5 hours. No word from the airline whether this flight is going to take off or not. Why should passengers not be given delay compensation? Any policy for travellers? @DGCAIndia,” he posted.
On Sunday night, more than 100 Air India passengers were scheduled to fly to Delhi but had to endure a two-hour wait at Pune airport before boarding their flight. To add to their woes, they were forced to sit inside the aircraft for nearly an hour after landing in Delhi due to the unavailability of ground staff at the Delhi airport. Flight AI-854, originally set to take off at 10 pm, finally departed around 12:15 am on Monday and landed in Delhi at 2 am.
In a separate incident, nearly 150 passengers on an IndiGo flight from Pune to Chennai had a grueling six-hour wait at the Pune airport early on Monday. Flight 6E-6745, which was scheduled to depart around 1 am, eventually took off at 6:30 am. Passengers expressed their frustration, citing a lack of prior communication about the delay. One passenger recounted, “I reached the airport at 11 pm, but the flight was rescheduled multiple times. It was an endless wait. The flight finally left for Chennai at 6:30 am.”
Despite the delays, no official statement was released by the airline. Sources indicated that the flight, operating on the Mumbai-Chennai-Pune-Chennai route, faced delays due to weather conditions in Mumbai and air traffic congestion.
The ordeal left passengers distressed and questioning the airlines’ preparedness and communication strategies. The incidents highlight the need for better coordination among airline staff and more timely updates to passengers to avoid such unpleasant experiences.
The affected passengers hope that the airlines will take necessary measures to improve their operations and ensure a smoother travel experience in the future.
