Passing Out Parade of NDA’s 142nd Course held

The National Defence Academy is the country’s premier Joint Services Training Institution which is the ‘Cradle of Military Leadership’. The 142nd Course was inducted in the year 2019 and today after completion of three years of rigorous military training the cadets passed out in a ceremonial event. The Passing Out Parade of 142nd Course was conducted at Khetarpal Parade Ground, NDA, Khadakwasla on 30 May 2022. 

Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, Chief of the Air Staff(CAS)reviewed the parade.

A total of907 cadets participated in the parade of which 317 cadetswere from the passing out course. This included212Army cadets,36Naval cadets and 69 Air Force cadets including 19 cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries (Bhutan, Tajikistan, Maldives, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Sudan). The cadets will hereafter join their respective Pre-Commissioning Training Academics.

Academy Cadet Adjutant Abhimanyu Singh won the President’s Gold Medal for standing first in the overall order of merit. Battalion Cadet AdjutantArvind Chauhan won the President’s Silver Medal for standing second in the overall order of merit and Squadron Cadet CaptainNitin Sharmawon the President’s Bronze Medal for standing third in the overall order of merit. MIKE Squadron bagged the prestigious ‘Chiefs of Staff Banner’, for being the Champion Squadron which was presented during the parade.The Reviewing Officer congratulated the entire passing out course cadets, the medal winners and the Champion Squadron. He told the cadets about what lies ahead for them and what is expected out of them as future military leaders. He emphasized on the need for continued learning to keep abreast with evolving technological advances and modern warfare. The Reviewing Officer also congratulated the proud parents on the successful culmination of training of their wards.
